Gang Intervention -- Youth |
Spirit Keeper Youth Society is unique in their gang intervention workshops, working with gang members who have made the decision to pursue paths as positive role models to an alternate lifestyle.
Workshops are facilitated by ex-gang members with a modern day hip hop and latter day cultural approach.
We welcome these former gang members to present their stories. Participants are adults with a painful past but have been in promising state of change for at least 12 months. By working with individuals connected to this perilous lifestyle, Spirit Keeper Youth Society finds their workshops more effective. An emotional connection is made with the kids who can clearly see and relate to the effects of gang life.
By challenging the myths and facing tough questions from the audience, this workshop does not shy away from the truth. The negative aspects of a gang lifestyle are presented in this workshop to kids of all ages. The workshop leaves the kids with positive choices and healthy alternatives.
The presentations are monitored by a skilled facilitator who is on hand at all times to intervene and/or answer questions throughout their presentation.
