About Us
Mission Statement
We will valiantly pursue new and innovative ways to assist our people to reach their full potential both individually and in their families, while focusing on the needs of all aboriginal children and youth. Our educational philosophy is aboriginal based and intertwined with our sense of spirituality.

Organization
Spirit Keeper Youth Society (SKYS) is an Aboriginal based non-profit organization that consists of various transitional life skills programs tailored to meet the needs of Aboriginal youth in care, each individually, leading them to live independent healthy lifestyles. Our Youth Services Department consists of sub-divisions that focus on the operational successes of our Learning Centres.

SKYS also offers Youth and Adult Gang Awareness Workshops; both on and off site. Additional training and workshops are offered through SKYS Institute, an affiliation of Spirit Keeper Youth Society such as the Youth Intervention and Addiction Counsellor Training Programs and Crystal Methamphetamine Workshops.

Value Statement
The vision of SKYS shall be achieved by assisting all Aboriginal Youth to develop and enhance the quality of their life experiences by offering services based on the following value statements.
  • Every person is unique and has the potential to grow.
  • Every person is worthwhile and deserves to be treated with respect and dignity.
  • Initiative, effort and willingness to learn should be fostered.
  • Time is to be utilized effectively.
  • In dealing with clients, the worth of families must be acknowledged
  • No individual, person or work unit works effectively in isolation (inter-dependence exists).
  • Every person is accountable in the context of clear roles and expectations. Every employee makes a significant impact on the program, and his/her potential contributions should be maximized.
  • Staff commitment to the mission, values and goals of SKYS is fundamental
